Glass display case with two painted eggs

In a performance assignment, while studying Fine Art, I was asked to make one piece based on a fairytale. I chose Blue Beard. I wasn’t in a very happy relationship at the time. Along with the assignment, we had to produce an object. In Blue Beard, and in my performance, a key plays a vital role. I read that in Chinese mythology an egg can represent a key and then, in picking up a few things from a junk shop, I saw this case which to me resembled some kind of coffin. It seemed the perfect object for the Blue Beard tale.
